     Thomas Howard was born on 16 November 1817 at Kentucky.5,6,7,8,9 Thomas married Elizabeth Shields, daughter of Francis Shields and Lucinda Deatherage, on 11 January 1844.4 Thomas died on 28 September 1899 at age 81 years, 10 months and 12 days at Missouri.9 He was buried at Mount Gilead Cemetery in Fayette, Howard County, Missouri.9
