Absolom D. Pollard was a cograntor in the conveyance of 540 acres at Boone County, Missouri, to John Pollard on 1 March 1866. The land had been inherited from Reuben Pollard.9

Bob Pollard and his brother Six helped to build Mt. Pisgah Church. Following is a transcription of an article about the construction of this church. "In 1849 the first church was built and in 1884, it was sold and the present edifice was built, mainly by Bob and Six Pollard at a cost of $1,700. An additional 2 acres were added to the property for cemetery purposes. A unique feature of this church building was the method of improving the acoustics of the auditorium. The Pollard boys bored holes in the ceiling and took empty pint beer bottles, uncorked them and stuck them through the holes with the open ends down. This 'took the ring out of the speaker's voice and was just a contrivance of the Pollard boys especially for that purpose,' so stated Frank Owings, clerk of the church for 50 years in 1955. "There were three rows of bottles for a total of forty-two in the ceiling.10

Absolom D. Pollard made a will on 4 September 1900 at Boone County, Missouri, in which he left property to Jackson B. Pollard. His will was proved on June 20, 1907.11

His obituary appeared on 13 June 1907 in the newspaper ""Sturgeon Missouri Leader" at Sturgeon, Boone County, Missouri. Jackson B. Pollard and James Perry Pollard were named as survivors.12 (Click on the icon to see the image.).
